Do you have an idea of cost to repair these assemblies? I saw a tractor in these series that had air brakes installed. I wonder how they did that. I read on here somewhere that some of these models you could take pto clutch pack out without a split.

As I understand, the PTO out the side trick only works on 8000 models because of a smaller pinion bearing. I always just split those tractors because the labor time is about a wash between the two operations. As for cost of parts, it all depends on what's wrong. Some parts, such as the rear support, you can't get new anymore. If you plan to have someone else do the work, I'd figure about 6-8 hours of labor max.

Air brake conversion? I'd like to see how they did that myself. Sounds intriguing.

Maybe dopp creek can chime in on the cost of parts.

I currently have the PTO clutch out of my 8000. I removed the hydraulic pump to replace some leaking seals so I pulled the clutch assembly at the same time. I decided to replace all the friction disks and steel plates,, they are quite inexpensive from YT. I ordered a variety of seals and gaskets from Messick?s, all in all I?m into this about 300 bucks in parts.
I concur with Bern, you can only remove the clutch from an 8000 through the pump cover opening. It took me about five minutes trying multiple positions to get it out. Not looking forward to putting it back in.

The air brake tractor is listed on one of those sites that pop up when you google a tractor, fast line and such. It was either a 8000,8600, 9000, 9600 or a 9700. IT seems like it was overseas.
