Ford 3000 (gas 3 cyl, 1966) Fuel Leak

This is a great running tractor but today it started spewing out gasoline at the area indicated by the RED ARROW on the photo.

The metal line snakes around from the other side of the tractor up to the area indicated by the arrow. Can anyone identify the parts in the leak area as well as suggest what the problem is and how to fix?

Thanks! I love this tractor, have had it since it was new and want to keep it in good running condition.

That's the fuel pump. Most likely leaking from the brass fitting. Should be able to get a new fitting at the local auto parts store.

Thanks for the response MJMJ. Much appreciated.

Do you have an idea why the brass fitting might leak badly (suddenly)? I'm trying to zero in on the possible problem.

Vibration over time I suppose, but that's just a guess. I've had to replace mine before, for the same reason.

Ok, thanks. One more question: Since you replaced the brass fitting, how does it fit over the metal line? Is it a compression fitting/line, or flared or a rubber seal inside or what? In other words, what keeps the metal line from leaking when it attaches to the brass fitting?

Thanks again.

It's been a while, but I believe it's a flared line. Which is another possible cause for the sudden leak.
