Hydraulic Plumbing help please

I am in the last stages of getting my 3400 project going. This tractor had the FEL and backhoe removed when i bought it, so I ended up hooking it back up just like it was plumbed (assuming it was plumbed correctly) and after multiple attempts and blown hoses I finally decided something must be wrong. I finally got around to checking what valve is on the backhoe. It appears to me that both the FEL and backhoe valves are open center, non-power beyond type. Does this look correct to you guys? (backhoe valve has 14 lines, 12 of which go to the backhoe cylinders. FEL valve has 6 lines, 4 of them going to the FEL cylinders) If so, I think it is plumbed completely wrong. Right now the line from the pump is going to the backhoe first, then to a selector valve (which has one of the two outputs plugged), then to the FEL valve, then to the reservoir (which has one of the two inputs plugged). If I understand the system correctly and they are not power beyond valves, it should go from the pump, to the selector valve, then each output goes to either the FEL or backhoe valve, then the outputs of those should go to the reservoir "T", correct? Hydraulics are not my strong point but they don't seem like rocket science, just have to dig in and get my hands dirty to get some experience. Thanks for any help!

No backhoe installed ? If so do not need selector valve. Run pump pressure to in port on 2 spool valve and return back to resivour

Sorry, I wasn't very clear on that. It does have both a FEL and a backhoe. They just weren't attached when I bought it, so I had no idea how to plumb them
 
Take another look at the 713 backhoe diagram I posted before in
reply to your inquiry. Use the diagram with selector valve, not the
power beyond version.

Basically:

Pump pressure output first goes to selector valve pressure input (on
side).

Pressure comes out of selector valve at one of two ports on the
bottom depending on state of the push-pull button on the valve.

The rear (tractor-wise) port feeds the backhoe - send this to the
backhoe pressure input, good to put a quick coupler here to make
disconnecting the backhoe easy. The front port feeds pressure to
the loader valve.

The return lines of both the backhoe and loader go back to the
hydraulic reservoir. Originally this was by way of a hydraulic
filter assembly which provided return-side fluid filtering. Put a
quick coupler here for the backhoe if you want to make disconnecting
the backhoe easy.

Also, if you diconnect the backhoe it's advisable to connect
pressure line to return line so you don't deadhead the pump if
selector valve is in the backhoe position.

Thanks Andy. It sounds like I understand things correctly. I’ll start getting hoses measured and made to replumb this old girl. Luckily it already has quick couplers on the backhoe, so it should be pretty simple. Thanks for your help
