2000 hydraulic leak

Still puttering around on the 3 cyl gas 2000. When running it
the other day, I noticed a slight trickle of hydraulic fluid leaking
out the end of the hose connector. Just a slight amount, but
noticeable if you sat there watched. The back of the tractor
was caked in sludge, I?m guessing this had gone on for quite a
while. Fluid was really low in the rear end when I dropped it
too.

Is this an issue in the valve assembly itself, or something
clogging up in the connection assembly? Thoughts
appreciated.

Hi Ed

Let me get this straight do you have remote hydraulic lines on the back of the tractor connected to a hydraulic ram on an implement? If yes then most likely means that the O rings in the coupler are warn and need replacing. Not a big job but you need to get the right rings. A hydraulic supply shop could help if you can identify what couplers you have and take an old O ring with you. Local farm equipment dealer should also be able to supply these.
