Might be worth a glimpse

UD are you trying to get me divorced?
That tractor is only 75 miles from me and is the one I don't have.
I have a 4000AP, 4000SU and 4500 industrial, but no 4200 row crop.
Sent him a email to see if it's still there.

The wife's going to hate you if I bring it home!

Lol,
I don't mind if you blame me.
Just don't give her my address.
We men gotta stick together cause we know
what's really important in life.

Wouldn't tick her off for a gasser if I didn't already have a spare 201 diesel engine in storage along with a diesel grill shell and other parts needed to do the conversion.
What I don't have is the diesel left side hood panel.
Sister in law sold me my brothers 5000 after he passed, one of the nephews is wanting to buy it back, if that deal goes thru the wife won't say much about this tractor, otherwise I probably won't get the 4200.
Uncle sam hit us pretty bad on taxes this year and we just sent out the checks last friday, pulled the bank account down pretty hard and it'll be a more few weeks to over a month before any revenue goes back into the bank.

I did my 4000 diesel conversion without changing the location of the dry air filter, hood, or grill shell. I modified the gas battery tray, used a group 65
battery and built a custom pipe to the diesel intake.

Agree. I've converted a couple of gassers to diesel reusing the gas nose.
I welded the brackets for the oil bath into the shroud and used a hole saw to open the bridge for the air tube to the intake manifold.
The last one I did I simply drilled the spot welds out of the bridge and changed the whole thing. It was quite easy.

Sadly that tractor is too far (16 hours away), been looking for a tractor like that, swap the motor and put a load and backhoe.

(quoted from post at 21:29:42 03/07/19) I just used the dry filter in the stock gas engine location.

What did you use to reroute the output of the air filter to the front of the intake manifold?

Sean are you asking me? I used a couple formed rubber elbows designed for various intakes and straight steel tubing. Low tech but it works.

Any pictures?

If you are asking me, Mike, I don?t. I sold the tractor and it remains in NY while I?m in NC.
