My 172 Diesel crank is way worn

Do they even make .040 rod bearings for that engine?

Or does anybody have a good crank they want to sell?

Be very careful grinding one of those cranks .040. They were prone of break anyway. I have replaced a few broken ones over the years. Ones with balancers and ones without.

I'm in Phoenix. Is it a crank with the balancer?

The machine shop has mentioned the welding up of the journals and the caution of the undersizing, so if I could get another good crank for not too much coin, it would be better for me.

How much are you looking to get for your crank?

Sorry, didn't notice that yours is diesel, mine is a gas crank.

Turn it .040 and don't look back I would have it checked for cracks

That crank can only be turned down to .020. Has to do with
the treating process.
