Pulling a 3600 with a shuttle drive transmission

my transmission is a 8E03C will it hurt to pull the tractor. It don't have a clutch pedal just the shifter on top. can I just put it in neutral and pull it or do I need to do something else.

also what is this on the side?

Bottom photo is the parking brake. Usually standard in Europe, but also available on US
industrial models. It can be pulled out and replaced by a blank plate. Some guys may want
to buy it.

I wonder whether you'd be allowed to pull with that transmission. It has a torque converter
and a set of hydraulic servos, one forward, one reverse. If in good shape, it should pull. You need an oil cooler. Mine was built into the bottom of the radiator.

I think he means pull as in tow.
Im not familiar with those transmissions, but it seems reasonable to be able to pull it with it in neutral.

Shuttle will roll just make shure it is in neutral/4speed box. There is no lube to input shaft if not running. Post numbers that are on tag under hood or to rear of starter. Looks repainted industrial.

Here is a picture of the levers on the 3-point side.

Numbers on tag.
Serial. C572522 Model. CA261F. Unit. 8H21B. Engine 8G10B.
Trans. 8EO3C. Axle. 8D19B

Others can ID it from the numbers.
Whatever it is it's not a 3600.
Has double reduction rear end which makes
it a 4xxx series plus single lift handle
and old style flow control valve makes it
pre 1976.

UD I want to agree but I'm finding the numbers very strange on this tractor.

Hood tag info
Model CA261F
CA2 = 3600 1976-1981
6 = gas engine with horizontal exhaust
1 = no pto
F = 4x4 torque convertor with auto reversing

Unit # 8H21B is for a tractor build 8/21/78 on day shift

I have never seen a 3600 with a planetary reduction rear axle, but I've never seen a ag model with a torque convertor trans ether.
Most times that trans is found on utility and industrial models.
The only tractor i could find built during that period time with a torque convertor trans that has that filter setup is a 532 industrial which uses the planetary axle but has the larger 201 engine.
Many things about this tractor are odd
3 point lift controls, hyd remote valve and fenders are all pre 76 stuff.
What does the small hyd hose connected to the flow control go to?

It would be interesting to see if the stamped component build dates matched the data tag under the hood.

OP could you post some pics of the whole tractor, front, sides and rear.

My uncle bought it at an auction that was TVA equipment here in TN.

I know the decal is wrong.

The plan is to swap the entire power steering set up, Hood and loader along with the heavy duty front end from this 69 on to it. along with the oil pan. The 69 has a select o speed trans with no dash or cables with it and may have a bad trans

Well,
It does have the later oil fill like a
X600 has on it.
Fenders are from a 4000 AP.
I suppose if you have a shuttle shift you
wouldn't care what rear end you graft onto
it as the pto doesn't work anyway.
The yellow tractor is a 3500/3550//4500
of some sort.
If it has a bad SOS I don't see how you'd
get a pto out of a swap. But maybe that
doesn't matter to you.

Thanks for the help. I have two other tractors that I use so all I want to use is the front loader. I have a waldon laymore lb30 back hoe that has a small bucket on the front so I just need something bigger.

Mine has the planetary rear axles. It is identified as a 1975 2000. Like his, mine was
a government purchase for use on an air base. It probably pulled bomb wagons. It had a cab,
so if it was taken off, you'd need to put on fenders from whatever.

Defiantly a odd ball, TVA probably special ordered it wanting the adjustable front axle to spread out for a wider stance.

That combination of parts will make a nice loader tractor.

If you have no plans for the blue tractors power steering I am defiantly interested in it or possibly any of the parts you don't want.
My brother in law as a 3000 with manual steering that is completely shot, needs a new steering box and other components.
We would like to put power steering on the tractor and could use several or all of the front axle components from the blue tractor.

I will keep you in mind once I get started. Waiting on the rain to stop so I can pull them both home. They are just next door but the field is flooded between the barn and road. Thanks
