2110 hydraulic leak

Have a 1983 2110 Ford diesel tractor. It has a small hydraulic leak coming out of the bottom of the transmission. Can't seem to find the part to fix it seems like a cotter pin coming out of the bottom of the engine right next to the drive shaft. I'm thinking it might be a rubber gasket that has fallen off.

That is the bell housing portion of the transmission case. It is where the clutch resides and is not suppoed to have any fluids inside. Occasionally the rear of the engine or the front of the main part of the transmission leak into the bell housing, That hole on the bottom is ther to allow any fluids that get in ther to be able to drip out so that the clustch does not become contaminated. The cotter pin is there to rattle around in the hole form the vibrations of the tractor running to keep the hole from geting clogged with dirt and mud.

So either the rear of the engine or the front of the transmission, or both, are leaking fluid into the bell housing. If it is just a small amount dripping out, I would live with it and keep an eye on the fluid levels in the trans and engine and top off when needed. If it is a large amount, or even a small amount but it bothers you, then you need to split the tractor between the engine and transmission and replace whatever seals are leaking.
