Looking for a 172 diesel crank.

Mine has the counter balance but it had a spun bearing on one of the rods. Looking for a new or re-welded one. My machine shop is checking their parts suppliers but I thought I'd check here also. Thanks

Tom

I had one a couple years ago I couldn?t sell so I basically gave it away with other Ford stuff I didn?t want to move. Standard/standard takeout with
balance gear.

I had one that the oil pump driveshaft stripped while running the haybine. Zero oil pressure. The machinery kept slowing down a bit at a time. I looked down at the oil gauge and quickly pushed in the clutch and the hammering started. It wouldn't knock under load. I pulled the tractor in and pulled the pan to find the front rod had hammered the insert into thin metal about an inch long. It was almost through the rod. I pulled the cap and looked at a very black journal. I decided to emery cloth it and it polished up very nice, I couldn't believe it. I then put in new bearings on that rod and went back to the field and right back to mowing. I put a lot of hours on it after that.

Tony Jacobs might have one. I know when he replaced mine
he sent a bunch of them to the machine shop to be checked.
A couple where good.
