Update on 871 Hydraulic Problem

Pulled the pump and sure enough it was was bad, both from wear and from a very poor repair job by the previous owner. Got it rebuilt (thanks Walthill guys) put it back on, changed the engine oil where the hydraulic oil had infiltrated and everything is good. Pretty sure now that the remote valve I installed didn't have anything to do with the pump's failure other than bad timing. Nice to have the tractor rolling again. Now would someone tell the arctic to come get their weather, I'm done with it here in north Nebraska.

Texfordfan,

Where are you located in northern Nebraska? I live in Columbus. Saw your post and yes, Jerry and Dave @ Walthill Service and Repair are great in my opinion. Real nice folks there!

I'm up in Atkinson. I moved here about a year and a half ago from Texas.

Thanks, ever get to Columbus, let me know. 402-563-4819. I've never had the honor of meeting Larry however, I always read his posts and am amazed at his knowledge of Ford tractors and willingness to share.
