An elderly friend had his tractor stolen. We have located a company that bought the tractor, but they had resold it. They claim the serial number tag was missing when they bought it. We are trying to find out if there is a hidden location that the serial number is stamped in the housing? We just found out this info today and all the dealers are closed, but hoping someone may know. Thanks

Serial number should also be stamped near the bottom of the transmission case, on the side. I don't recall
whether it was on the LH or RH side. Look for a machined surface.

The serial number and model number is stamped in the transmission housing under he left floor board. The dealer should have known that and recorded the numbers when they purchased it and again on the bill of sale when they sold it.

Not if they aren't a CNH dealer

I would find out where it went and bring it home. You can backtrack any seller of it. When it comes to the man who stole it, he will start sweating bullets because he will have to come up with a legitimate name.
