900 front weight box

Does anybody have a front weight box like this that they can give me some detail measurements of it. A friend of mine want to try to fabricate one and would like to get it as close to original as possible

I'm glad you tossed that out there. I have thought about having one made also. I'm guessing any weights that will fit in it would be ok. I think having one made would be cheaper than buying one! I've seen the price on some and they were double what I gave for the tractor.

I live by a high tech foundry.
They could take some laser "photos" of a box, digitize it, print out a pattern on the 3D printer then cast a few for you. The weights too.
I've gotten to know the owner pretty well and when I asked him once about making some pie weights for me he just rolled his eyes.
I'm not sure if it was making the weights or the fact that I wanted them made of bronze.
For the box on a NF Ford I think a high nickel stainless would look nice.

I've wondered how costly it would be to make cast iron weights with modern technology.

Seems that the Ford weight box and weights might be a good test bed.

Wonder how long it will be before someone arranges for some to be made in China?

Haven’t been on here much, but I will do what I can. I will try to get some measurements/pics that I would expect you desire.

Kirk,
I'm glad you brought up the subject, I've been thinking about adding weight to my 900. There was an incident involving a round bale and a pole building....the tractor is fine...but...Anyways, I made a call to a buddy of mine and he thinks he has one "Out by my pile of weights". Unfortunately we go 12" of additional snow on Saturday night and it is buried under 3 feet of snow. I told him I would get ahold of him when it melts in a month (I hope) or so. If he has one I can get it measured and get it on cad so there are real prints for it. I looked on line at several, and it will be hard (read expensive) to recreate it to match the factory ones. When I get it in my hands I can tell more. They look like were formed in a die and have those nice radii on the corners. I'll try and keep you posted if they actually have one. It was funny, two guys knew exactly what I was talking about, but never mentioned it being pricey, sounds like they have weights too.

Thanks. My friend has his own machine shop and I'm always coming up with crazy ideas to make but he came up with this one himself. He just picked up a 960-5 he wants to use for pulling and wants to see if he can make the weight box as close to original as possible so a CAD drawing would be great. Here's my email [email protected]
