Ford 7610 review?

Hi all,
Green guy by nature (don't hate me). I have a fellow who has a fellow that has a Ford 7610 tractor with loader for sale with 2000 hours for around $11k which sparked my interest. Trouble is I know nothing about Fords so I thought I would post on here where some Ford folks could give me their opinion of this tractor and what to inspect on it. Who knows I may convert!! LOL! Thanks for your comments in advance!

I have a 6610 with Westendorf TA26 loader, it is a solid machine.

If it has the Simms inline pump, make sure you keep the oil changed in it.

great tractors.. but always due your checks on any tractor.

Check for bubbling in the radiator and oil in the radiator. check oil for any white or simi white milk shake as the oil should be very black unless its a very very fresh oil change. check for major fuel and fluid leaks. Check dual power for positive lock in high range after tractor is warmed up. check pto for pulling heavy loads and not slipping. check lift for correct operation.. check tractor cold for quick starting, check for smoking at exhaust as it should run clear within 15 seconds of starting, unless it very cold then it might take a bit longer and then run clear. check for heavy blowby, trans and clutch and rest of tractor. Some items like loose tie rod ends are not expensive to replace and normal. water pumps, alternators and the like are minor items as well. If possible try tractor with plow and shredder under load for a bit. If you can, plow a field or shred a field for the seller to see how it performs under heavy load. (not possible most of the time).

Biggest problem with a 7610 is the cooling package. In order to keep it cool within the confines of the existing space, the engineers had to make the radiator core thick and with close fin spacing. This works fine as long as you work in lab conditions. In the field, where you run into grass, cotton, grain, leaves, etc., this design does not work so well. Adding a loader only compounds the problem with material spillage near the radiator. Stated another way, keep the radiator clean, which is not easy to do.

I agree with the above but would add that a 7610 with only 2000 hours would be an extremely rare machine and I'd jump on it. More likely, the hour meter -tach dash assembly has been replaced. I would look closely.
