Ford 4000 su

I have a ford 4000 su with an 8 speed transmission , it is currently hung in I believe high gear , but the the shifter is in the neutral position , I can put the shifter into what should be 5th gear or 7th gear but when I do that and start letting out on the clutch the tractor doesn't move but it loads the tractor , am my advice would be appreciated

You have to remove the shift top and line up the shift rails.
Putting it in 5th or 7th is putting it in two gears at once, that will result in broken gears in the trans or if your lucky a busted clutch.
