1964 Fordson Super Dexta, New Performance, built March 12th 1964. Engine is a
Ford/Perkins F3.152 rated at 44.5 hp. Do not be fooled by the Perkins designation,
although some parts are interchangeable with Perkins engines, others are not. All
castings were made at Dagenham and shipped to Perkins for assembly.

Good sturdy little tractor but it has a couple of weak areas, always use antifreeze in
the radiator as there is an area of the block behind the injection pump that traps
coolant and does not drain. People have been caught out by draining the radiator in a
cold spell and having the water freeze and crack the block at this point. The other
point is that the bottoms of the gear sticks where they go into the selectors, wear and
allow the levers to jump out of the selectors. Easy job, just take out the four bolts
and put them back in, The sticks can be buit up with a bit of weld or new sticks are
available.

Enjoy it!!! I have a petrol version and was out with her yesterday doing a spot of weed
trimming. Lovely early Spring day, purring up and down made you glad to be alive.

thanks for the help guys any way possible of finding out what the tractor came with originally like a build sheet ? Or more detailed breakdown info of those numbers ?

They are great little tractors and about the only down side was they did not come with power steering. Otherwise, a live pto, live hydraulics, very thrifty on fuel, tons of power, lots of maneuverability, dual range transmission, all in a small package. Fairly comparable to the Ford 3000 that came next. At least the one I had, of which I passed down to other family members.

(quoted from post at 05:59:12 02/16/19) According to tractordata.com 09D912783 is a 1964 serial number for a Super Dexta

Sean,

I agreed to look at a friend's tractor...from what I have thus far researched, it appears to be a Dexta/Super Dexta.

The serial number that I've been able to locate is very similar to the one you ID'd here. I looked at the tractordata site, but failed to see anywhere to nail down my number, can you help?

From what I can tell, the number is: 09D92636 (the 'D' isn't complete, but pretty sure that that is what's stamped there)

Thanks in advance,
Charlie, SC

If it is a Super Dexta then the first 3 characters of the serial number have to be 09B, 09C or 09D. In all cases the number after that has to have 6 digits, so I am betting that you are missing the final digit, and any serial number starting with 09D92 would be a 1964 serial number.

On a closer inspection of the picture I took of the S/N, it should be : 09D926336
