Temp. guage

Perusing ebay this morning and finding temperature gauges for Jube 100 series ranging from $18.04 (free shipping)to $46.95 (free shipping).Does that mean the higher priced one is three times better? Also one listed with 5 ferrells. Interesting, generally only one is sent and it doesn't fit. Lots of tractors running with out any ferrell, lost when the first temp bulb was removed from the head.

The difference is in the cylinder head. The older tractors had the bulb seat integral with the head. Later tractors simply had a pipe thread port. You need the adapter when it's just a pipe plug port, and you don't on the earlier tractors.

I was not aware of a pipe thread adaptor being used. From NAA an up till ,I don't know when, I left the dealership in 1964, the gauge fitting screwed into the threaded(5/8)head. A Ferrell was used on the prob. Which you won't find with a new gauge.

I just ran into problems with temp gauge from this site I put on my 740. I solved the problem by buying a 3/8 brass ring, like the ones used in a compression fitting. Slide it over probe and then tightened it down. Worked good.
