1964 Select-O-Speed Question

I am re-assembling the Select-O-Speed transmission and I have a question. How do you initially set the bands prior to installing the transmission?
I'm assuming the information in the service manual is with the engine running and hydraulic pressure available?
Band #1 (released) Backed off one turn.
Band #2 (released) Backed off 3/4 turn.
Band #3 (released) Backed off 3/4 turn.

Just set B2 and B3 as snug as you can get them. Set B1 snug then back it off 3/4 of a turn. When you get the transmission in and warmed to normal operating temperature, set them by the book.
