Temp Gauge Update

I called customer service twice and got two different answers. Last week the guy on the phone was trying to help, but didn't have an answer. Then a supervisor/manager overheard the conversation and said I should have gotten a brass crush fitting/bushing. Over the weekend I went through all the packaging and trash can but couldn't find any brass fitting that I might have not seen when I opened the package. I called back today and was told that they don't come with a fitting/bushing. They've been having trouble with the gauges for a year or so. That some blocks aren't threaded deep enough and the manufacture recommends wrapping the temp probe with Teflon tape to prevent it from leaking.

So, I have three options: Try and find a brass ring used in a compression fitting and Teflon tape to try and get it to seal. Amazon has several fitting adapter kits that I might try if i can figure out the size/threads that I need. Or, try a different manufacturers gauge.

Typical temp gauge adapters look similar to the one in the link below. The outside will be tapered pipe thread, and the inside is 5/8" straight thread with a tapered seat for the bulb to seal against.

Almost always a mechanical temp gauge is going to come standard with a 1/2" NPT adapter included, as 1/2" is the most common size.

Go to your local hardware store and ask for a 3/8" Delrin sleeve
T60P part # 30560-06 and slide it on your probe and tighten it.
I don't know what the big bushing fits, none of my Fords.

I posted a video of installing a mechanical gauge, it shows it pretty clearly.
What threads are in the hole in the motor? What threads are on the gauge probe nut?
