Hey guys , got a question, I have 2 172 diesels, 1 the rocker arm drain tube is open the other is squeezed closed ,there’s no marks on it like previous owner has done this ,, which is proper? Seems as thou it being closed would increase pressure right?

I'm afraid I don't have a spare. New Holland appears to have it. It's p/n C0NN6766A (originally 8N6763B).

Good luck bringing that engine to life. That's a pretty interesting find!

In the two that I've seen, it should be open.

All I've seen were open. If all the engine is within specification the open tube will not drop the oil pressure.
