861 hood

I have an 861 that i'm working on. The gas tank door doesn't fit correct. I measured my NAA and the 900 and the tank door is the same on both. My 900 hood is on the tractor and it is a snug fit. The 861 has too much gap on both sides like the door is too small. Can anyone suggest anything that I'm missing. Thanks Ed

Hmm. My 871 hood and gas tank door fit pretty good, but if you have somehow pulled the bottom of the legs (down by the front axle) in, that widens the gap at the top of the hood assembly. Only other thing I can think of, is somehow the gas tank cover needs to be "flattened" a little so it's wider.

I just ran out and measured my hood. It's 8" wide at the back, and 9 3/4" wide at the front. YMMV.

Maybe some of the parts are aftermarket?

The small bolts holding the hood sides to the center sections at the front and rear have somewhat slotted holes. Try moving things as close to the center as is possible.
