Hello,
I have a base model 1985 3910. Mice chewed through my harness in several placed and I and can't seem to find a wiring diagram anywhere. I've looked through the 10/30 series manual but no such luck. Perhaps it is listed under some different model or in a different manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is that the 6 volume set? They should be in there. Some of these manual sets are hard to interpret in regards to pinpointing the models, at least with 30 series tractors and wiring diagrams, maybe it's me. I did find the one for my 4630 in this set, helped me solve a similar problem when mice built a nest above the fuel tank, they got the fuel shut off solenoid wire, it shorted and the Lucas in-line diode was faulty after that.

That's the set. I also looked in the 80's(?) Tractor Repair Manual Vol1/2. Close but no cigar. I agree these manuals are hard to follow. "For X look at section ABC, but not if you have DEF, and only if you are YZ"

So maybe I have the manual set but need someone to explain where it is in the manual... :)

I looked but still no luck. :(
probably have nothing useful to you, but if you know if any of these are the same, I do have these.

Does 2,3,4,5000 series have the 3910?

think, not as the years of manufacture are almost a decade apart.

I may be able to figure out some of this through deductive reasoning. How about just a wiring diagram for the three position key switch?

Hi JMOR,
What manual did the paragraphs 172-173 image come from?

I got wired up. Now when I turn the ignition once, the lights come on and the gauges register. Then I turn it to start, without start turning it all the way for ignition, the solenoid clicks and everything dies. I have to disconnect the battery for a few before I can try again. What causes the delay?

I had some issues with the solenoid. The starter side of the solenoid wouldn't tighten, it just spins. The threads were stripped on the battery side. Who knows how long it has been that way. Safe to say I need to replace the solenoid. I wonder if the starter is grounding out. I thought I got water in it while cleaning but I opened the starter case and didn't see any water.

Attached are photos before harness repair.

Thanks. I took the starter apart and there appears to be an open ground. I ordered a new starter. Will see where that leads.
