Ford 851 Powermaster. Having hydraulic problems.
When I first bought the tractor 2 years ago the hydraulics worked good but the fluid was milky. I drained it all out, cleaned the sump out with a little diesel, refilled using UTF 134D on a recommendation here locally. Ran good all last year.
I put the tractor away back in September and hadn't started it until last week. My hydraulics are not working correctly. They are VERY slow to lift, and a little jerky. When I raise the lift lever, I'd say it's about a 4 or 5 second delay before any movement, then a VERY slow and somewhat jerky lift. It does go all the way up, just slow. Engine speed does not help. The valve holds when I shut the tractor off, my box blade (several hundred pounds) stays in the air.
I thought maybe the UTF was possibly causing the problem. I drained hyds and trans. The tractor parks in my shop, no moisture in the fluid, it looked pretty good. Refilled with 90wt fluid instead of UTF. No joy, still slow. Filled more fluid just to make sure, same problem.
Any likely culprits I should start with? I have never taken apart the hyd pump or any related valves and piping. I do have a manual, but I don't think it is as in depth as it could be. Any good tutorials out there?
