Ford 7710 dual power problems.

Hello, I wrote on here a month ago about my dual
power problems on a 7710 dual power Well we
went through the dual power and the disks were all
fried. So we put all new disks and floaters in for the
low side. The High side looked ok but we changed
them while we were in there along with all the dual
power orings seals. Got it all back together today
and it moved about 50 feet then quite. It like wants
to move but won?t when I shift the dual power I feel
it shift but still won?t move
I installed a t fitting on line going to dual power and
with it running it only making 25 psi. When I shift
dual power it don?t change. When I turn pto on it
drops then slowly works it?s way back to the 25 psi
the pto also starts super slow and if u hold a 2x4
against the pto when You turn it on you can stop it
from turning.
Is there a way to tell if it?s the pump bad or
somewhere else leaking? I was told it should have
150-200psi Can I just eliminate the pto? It?s a
boom mower so the pto is never used. The boom
hydaulics uses one scv outlet and they work fine.
Thank you

I can almost guarantee you that your problem is located at point #51 in the link below. The arrow is pointing to a clip that is used used to attach the pump low-pressure line to the PTO control valve. This clip likes to pop out of its groove sometimes, resulting in the extremely low pressure that you are seeing.

If you look at the parts listing, #51 is called a "rigid tube assy", however the arrow is pointing to the clip (part of the line) that gives the trouble. If you look closely at the part description, it makes mention of a kit, part # 73338137, needed "to be safe from leaks". I don't know what this kit consists of, however it's worth looking into.

Verify this issue by removing the round cover plate with the 4 bolts on the LH side of the rear axle housing. ID the tube and clip in question using a flashlight, then have someone start the engine while you watch. If you see oil spewing out past the clip (or the o-ring # 49), bingo, you've found the problem. Drain a few gallons of oil out first so oil doesn't come out when you remove the plate.

Thanks for the help! I took that cover off and watched it running through there. The line is not leaking there. But when u look up at clutch plates have some oil leaking around them but not a major amount. With the pto off. When u turn pto on it splashed around Should there be no oil there with pto off? And would that mean this valve is leaking. And does this valve come out without splitting it. Thanks again!

If there was no oil leaking at that line (I was surprised to read that), then you must have a major leak elsewhere. Since you rebuilt the dual power, we should be able to safely assume that you have no leaks there. Since the pressures were the same with the PTO both on and off, we can rule that out as well. Unless there's a major leak at the the transfer case (very unlikely), that pretty much leaves the pump in my mind. I'd say it's time to pull the pump and check out the rear piggyback section for damage or blown seals.

What I'd do to be certain is to cap off the lines going to the dual power and 4WD transfer case to isolate those away from the pump. If you still have 25 PSI, it's time to pull the pump.

As for oil leaking out the PTO when it's off, that's normal. The PTO clutch plates are lubed when the clutch is off and the discs are slipping relative to each other.

Pulling the PTO valve out requires splitting the tractor, since you likely have load monitor. You don't want to go down that road if you don't have to.

I put a ball valve in the line goin to the dual power when I shut the line off it went to 90psi then bounces between 55 and 90 just flickering Also I had 25 psi when it?s warm but now testing it?s cold it?s running around 55. It is two wheel drive

So you're saying it goes from 25 PSI to 90 PSI when you shut off flow to the dual power? If true, you have multiple problems, sorry to say. When the dual power is in low range, there should be no loss. In high range, maybe 2-3 PSI max.

When I first shut the line off it hit 90 then bounced started bouncing. I?m hoping I found an issue. Was tryin to separate the pumps and found a plastic screen that was plugged So I cleaned it and put it back together waiting on silicon to dry. Hoping this is my problem and pump ain?t ruined
