Rear rim advice

53 Jubilee

New User
Hi, new to the forum. I have a 53 Golden Jubilee with 28" rims, with 6 bolts. Looking for used turf tires, and many of them are mounted on loop rims. Will most 28" 6-loop rims
fit my wheel centers, or are rims specific to tractor make and model? I'm not sure how this works.

If you have the factory centers you should be good. They are the most common setup for that size of tire. That being said tho there are a lot of different parts out there so I would get as much info as I could before buying. Just my 2 cents worth Greg NE

The 28" centers and 6 loop rims will fit all the smaller Fords from 1948 till 1983.
They did make small changes to then along the way but any and all of them will bolt together and fit on your Jube without any issues.
There are several 28" tire widths - 11.2", 12.4", 13.6", 14.9", even 16.9" and each width will affect tire Height as well.
Your tractor would originally have come with the equivalent of 12.4X28 tires so I would try to keep them that size as tire height(diameter) does affect ground speed.

Don't mean to steal your thread 53 Jubulee, But I have a 52 8n that came to us as a LGC or someone's version of. It came with wheel spacers and 15 in rim very deep dished. I can't recall the exact size of the tire it's buried in the snow right now and also the front wheels and tires were direct bolted to the hubs I think they were only a 10 inch tire. They have since been switched out to a standard 16" front and 24" rear. The front tires are wide tread like a smaller trailer and the rears are a wide turf type like you would expect for a golf course tractor which is where this tractor came from. I guess I was assuming that was the way you put turf tire on the these tractors and didn't realize it was common for a 24 or 28 inch turf tire or am I misunderstanding your response Greg? My set of tires/wheels won't bolt to the centers but directly to the hubs. Is this just because it's a LGC conversion? My information is based on what I have in my yard and no real outside world facts. In other words just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
53 Jubilee I do have all 4 tires/wheels/spacers for it and they are still in remarkably good shape. I'm a little confused which is normal for me.

I don't know if they ever made an LCG in an 8n. Would like to see some photos of your tractor. It would be possible to take the wheels off a 2000 LCG and add them to an 8n.

Kirk, I don't now that it was stock as a LGC. only that it became one with these tires on it. I will venture out in the fence row this weekend and get a few pics of the rear tires/wheels which are currently holding up a derelict Massey. The front tires are in the basement of the MIL's and will get there later today and snap a few. The tractor itself looks like any other 8N now as we put the standard wheels and tires back on so we could use it on the property. I have used it myself before with turf tires pulling gang/reel mowers and it did work well but the reels didn't like my weed laden grass much. Best part the tires were smaller in diameter and helped out with the high gearing.
We lost the Grandpa of Grandpa's Fords about 2 years ago and these were his tractors. He was a Ford tractor dealer and mechanic and he probably knew exactly what this tractor was. He bought it from a golf course that had it but I don't know if it came to them that way.

Where are you located? I sold my 28 inch turf tires, but I do have
a set of like new 21.5 x 16.1 SL tires on rims that will bolt right on.
I'm in central Michigan.
