861 Power Steering

Working on an 861 diesel with power steering I just bought. Opened up steering reservoir and it looked like a latte and thick as a milk shake. Any advice on flushing the system? Service Manual was no help. Drained the reservoir and pulled the filter, figured at this point it was useless. Filled and ran the tractor to start pushing out the cylinders and other components. Fluid has thinned down but still looks ugly. Did this three times. I know this will eventually clear it up but wondering if there is an easier way.

I jack up the front end, remove the hoses at the cylinders and turn the steering lock to lock (engine off) until no more oil comes out from cylinders or hoses. Remove any remaining oil in the reservoir. Replace the hoses, refill and turn the steering lock to lock several times with engine running.

Repeat until clean.

Replace filter.
