Load capacity for a 5000 with a quickie loader

My neighbor gets his animal feed in 2000 lb bags and he wanted to know if my tractor (1974 Ford 5000) with a Quickie Q720 loader would handle the weight. I thinking a 1000 lbs bag would be ok. I am concerned about the front end of the tractor. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I found the specs for the Q720 loader via a Google search, and it is rated to lift 3300 lbs. to maximum height, so as long as there's enough ballast in the rear it should be able to handle 2000 lb. bags with no problem. The more ballast there is in the rear, the less weight will be on the front axle, but the 5000 front axle is very stout compared to the smaller tractors with the radius rod front axles, so as long as there's enough ballast to keep the rear tires down when lifting the 2000 lb. bags it should be fine.

I have a 1974 Ford 5000 with a 7210 Ford loader. I lift 2000 + pounds offten with no problems. Also have fluid in the rear tires.

You will be fine as long as they are in the bucket, the farther out the less weight you can handle.

This is easy. If you are concerned, tell him your tractor isn?t up to the task and he needs another solution.
