1841 King pins

Need to verify a few things before I start this job. Attached is a list of parts included with the kit. It specifically lists unfinished bushings. From what I've learned they need to be reamed after inserting to finished size.
This leads me to my question? If the pin is 1.13" what size reamer do i need to obtain? I do not own any so need to purchase one for the job.
From the information I have obtained the bushing needs to be taken down until the pins just slides in with a little effort.? Is that correct?
Can I do this with some type of brake home?

Or should I just pay to have it machined?

Thanks Jeff

I cant tell you on that but I had some bushings reamed with an adjustable reamer once. They took all the brass off and it still didnt fit loose, could have been burrs. The brake hone sounds like a good idea, maybe with some cutting oil.

I put new King pins in my HD Industrial, I bought a kit from NAPA. The new pins were tight so I dropped the pin and steering knuckle off at my machine shop and they obtained the correct clearance using a hand reamer, not sure what size it was but he didn?t charge me much to do the job. All is tight now and has been for the last 3 years, I mow 5 acres once a week during the spring, summer and part of fall. Good luck with your project.

those bushings need to be honed on a sunnen honing machine with a long mandrel that hones both bushings at once to keep them parallel with each other, you will be there all day with a brake hone and they wont be in line with each other.
