Ford 4000 LP pulled out of the garden

Line is tight. I have removed the carb and it looks nastier inside than out.

Do I have anything to loose taking the regulator apart? I read lots of forums where guys said parts for the reg are not available

Sorry for caveman talk. It thinks I a spammer if I talk in paragraphs with punctuation

Were soaking now. Went for a quick dip in chem dip, then into the parts wash solvent all night. Now I came home at lunch with some deep creep and were hitting it with that. Everything besides the rod that moves to shut the gas flow on and off has freed up nicely so far. Maybe this evening when I get home I can free that rod up and we will be back in business.

Chances are the regulator looks just as bad and could be why fuel was still being delivered to carb. The regulator should stop flow to the carb if there is no vacuum via cranking.
My experience is with the Century regulator and Marvel Shembler carb used on a different make of tractor so I apologize if the Fords are dramatically different.

After several days of hitting the frozen actuator with
penetration oil I finally got it busted loose today. Carb back
assembled and it fired up and ran good. So now it?s on to the
next issue!
