Ford 4000 motor swap

Been slowly getting ready to swap the motor from our 1969 4500 to the transmission of our 1966 gas 3000. The biggest Issue is that we are having issues with the air filter. Is there a way to swap the air filter out of either tractor to make this work?

4500 engine gas or diesel? If gas direct swap, now diesel gonna be a different deal. May have use exhaust pipe prefab elbows and cut/weld what is needed.

The 4500 motor is a diesel with a paper filter in the nose. I just can't figure out where the air filter would go. I know that the fuel tank, hood, wiring hardness fuel lines/ with fuel filter would have to be changed over to the 3000 trans. I'm 90% sure that the radiator are both the same, if not, hopefully the wholes are in the same spot to attach.

I hate to say it, but I need the gas air filter on the gas motor. After we get that tractor all setup, we are going to put the 3000 motor into the 4500 transmission.

I don't think that the nose of a 3000 is large enough for a 4500 style paper air filter. A 3000 diesel would have an oil bath filter in front of the radiator & you could probably find one at a salvage yard. If you want to go that route you would need to cut a hole in the panel above the radiator for the air tube to get through. It's probably easier to find another gasser air filter assembly at a salvage yard. Or you could just add a clamp-on style filter to the front of the intake manifold. Depends on how dusty an environment you plan on working it in.

Seems like going the clamp on route. We’ll be using the tractor for; haying, Woods mowing, wood chipping, brush dragging and more.

Getting ready to swap the motors, got the noise off the tractor today and might clean up the crack.
