2000 fluids

Working on getting the gas tank cleaned, radiator repaired, wiring fixed, etc. tractor has sat for 10 years or so. Waiting for some parts to arrive. Should I drop all the fluids now while it?s sitting or get it all put back together and then run it a while before I change them?

Certainly not an expert here, nor do I have a lot of experience with tractors, but when I brought mine home, the sludge and goo in the transmission made me sick. I'm glad I didn't churn all that up into the system. I scooped it out with my hands. yuck!
I just looked at Travellers Premium UTF. 5 gallons for $33.00. I figure I can afford to change it after I get everything put back together and run it once on fresh oil. My 2 cents.

Ford 2000; 3cyl diesel; 8/2 trans.....Drain all fluids and let them drip for a day or more if cold in your area. Change at least air and fuel filters. Refill everything except engine with Travellers Premium UTF or similar fluid. Use Shell Rotella 15-40, or similar, motor oil in engine. Might be a good idea to add Seafoam to the engine oil and gas tank when you change the oil to help flush out crap. Then change engine oil and filter again a few hours after running with the Seafoam treatment. My two cents worth.
