I'm looking for a parts tractor or a running tractor to fix up my
ford 801.what tractors had the same tin and engine? Thanks

(quoted from post at 13:05:59 01/25/19)
Engine: 800, 900, 801, 901, pre '65 4000. 1801

Tin: 801

Wouldn't the 901 tin also be the same as the 801 tin, except maybe for the mount at the bottom of the doglegs?

(quoted from post at 18:26:25 01/25/19) tin for 871 and 881 would be the same except for the PTO hole.
871 and 881 tin should be identical. There's no difference in PTO, as pertains to tin, on those two models. They are both models within the 801 series.

No, the dog leg is shorter on a 901. I have utility sheet metal I'm going to shorten for my row crop.

Doesn't that confirm Sean's comment, rather than refute it???

and . . . your point is???

I think he's trying to say you'd have an extra hole in 801 tin from a SOS tractor if used on a 861. BTW, his link is useless - goes to Yahoo news page.

Yeah, I know what he's trying to say, but, IMHO it wasn't written to say what he's thinking in the beginning.

And yes, his link is worthless. Certainly doesn't show a Ford tractor.

On the early *000 series, all hoods had the SOS PTO holes in them. The ones without SOS simply had a knockout button in the hole. I'm assuming that knockout could be purchased to fill the hole in a non-SOS 801 as well.

I did not know that. Makes sense, though.

I've got an extra center hood panel if you're interested.
