Would anyone know what year the front grill on 3cyl 4000 changed between the screen to the slotted sheet metal below the Ford emblem panel?
Thanks, TP

I'm not quite following your description.
There Were two different grills however.
One was the older wrap around style the
other was a flat, newer looking style.
Both were two piece.
The old style was used on tractors with
the louvered side hoods.
The change occured in April of 1968.

That's what I was asking......lower wrap around screen versus flat slotted/stamping for the lower half.

Thanks,

TP

April 1, 1968 was when they started making them with the newer style sheet metal and grills according to official references, but some with the older style tin and grill were still produced as late as July 19 of 1968 (date code of 8G19B) according to the Ford Service Manual section that discusses the differences between the "previous" and "new" models.

NOTE: For an interim period previous model and new model tractors were being produced simultaneously; however, there were no previous model tractors produced with a date code after 8G19B.
