TW 25 Front seal and parts

I am assembling an 401T TW 25 engine to put it back into a ford 8700.

In the package with the front crankshaft seal were these parts on the bottom of the photo.
Does anyone know what they are for?
I think the long black pieces are for the rear seal if I didn't have the later style bolt on seal retainer which I do.
I also have a large plastic washer ( not pictured) that appears to go in the timing cover ahead of the front seal.
I haven't investigated but I think the smaller o-ring may be for the oil pump but I'm not sure.
I'm lost on the other stuff especially the large O-ring.

It appears the metal washer goes against the crank gear then the spacer goes on, but there wasn't any sealant of the spacer when I removed it??

Thanks

The gasket kit that you bought has parts inside that you won't use, as it covers all of the various derivatives of that
engine. In your case, it has parts for engines both older and newer than yours.

As you suspected, the black pieces and the pins next to it are for the early style rear main cap like you might find on an
8000.

The large plastic washer is part #5 in the link below. It goes between the timing cover and the front seal. It acts as a
dust seal for the primary front seal. Also shown in the same pic is the o-ring, #18. If you look closely, you'll note that
this o-ring is used on 1991 and later engines with a redesigned front spacer. In other words, don't use it.

I'm pretty sure the smaller o-ring is for the oil pump pressure tube in the pump - see if it matches up. While on the topic
of oil pumps, if it were me I'd remove the oil pump relief valve and inspect it as well as the bore it slides in very
carefully. These pumps were notorious for giving problems in this area, and it's quite possible that you might bring it down
to idle one day and find out you have little to no oil pressure.

Now for the bad news: A TW engine won't fit in an 8700 - the front of the oil pan will hit the front end bolster of the
8700. This is because the TW pan is bigger than your 8700 pan to make room for the crank-driven oil pump, and no, you can't
swap pans either. You'll either need to find a different front bolster or do some serious relief grinding to your existing
one. I've never done the latter, so I can't say how much you'd have to take off.

Thank you for the reply and confirming what I suspected!
This TW engine was already installed in the 8700 before I started the overhaul. I'm not sure the configuration but it fit well without any issues, looks factory.

While I'm busy asking questions, I have a really dumb one.....
How do the rocker arms get their oil? I don't seem to have any hollow head bolts.

Someone must have installed a TW front bolster on your 8700 if it "fit well".

As I recall, oil comes up through a passage near the front of the block via the #1 cam bearing and then enters the rocker area through a cross drilling. There are no hollow head bolts, although the oil does make its way into the head bolt holes that support the rockershaft.
