helping a friend with his 2000 Ford with 4 cyl. gas The 3 point wont lift, pump has good pressure. Took the 3 x 5 plate off the front of lift cover and oil comes out hole to the right. We put compressed air in the port hole to the left of the check valve and the lift arms raise. Could the check valve in front of lift cover be stuck ? Tractor was setting for 5 years before he purchased it Thanks for any help

The unloading valve is beneath the top cover. These two posts discuss the unloader valve and may prove valuable to diagnosing the lift problems you are currently experiencing.

If you aren't having issues with losing prime, the most likely suspect is a sticking unloader valve, especially when tractor sits for long periods.

Humming "Green Acres is the place for me..." we purchased a 29 acre tract about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Next came the house, I could talk about that ordeal for another two weeks... But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked ...
