I would like to find the electrical diagram for the '78 515 diesel as well. I can tell you where it's not. I can tell you that it is NOT in this owners manual.

and it's NOT in this repair manual which does have schematics for the 230A - 530A gasoline and on the reverse side of that schematic it has the schematic for the 230A, 530A, 340A, 445 and 545 diesels.
It also says for the 515 to follow the information for the 540A in the beginning of the manual. So no schematic for the 515 diesel.

Hopefully someone here has the one for the 515 diesel that includes the 1978 model.

Look at the schematic for a 1978 model 4600. A 515 might have a different style light switch but that?s about it.

I haven't had time to check to see if it's the same but here is the schematics for the 4600 someone posted a while back which I saved. Good luck reading the color codes.

I'm the original poster of the 4600 schematic. Let me know if you need further clarification. I wish this site had a way to post pdf files.

Bern. Any chance you can post a link to the pdf that has the wiring diagram for the 4600? It would be appreciated if you can.

I tried sharing the pdf on OneDrive and it would show the url but wouldn't make it a clickable link. At least not in preview.

Um, I've never used onedrive, but when I use the share feature on google drive, it generates a link, then tells me to copy and paste it where ever needed, i.e. an Email, facebook and so forth.

Yes it creates a link like dropbox and google drive but when I pasted it then highlighted it and clicked the URL button it created the brackets but it didn't become a clickable link like the dropbox link did.

Here I'll try again and see.

It's not a link in preview now to post it and see if that changes which I doubt since the dropbox one became a link in preview.

Well, for what it's worth, I carefully highlighted your link, and it took me right to your 515 operator's manual on onedrive. Dunno why it ain't highlighted in blue.

Oh, are you clicking the (url) button FIRST? If you do it after, it puts the url commands in, but doesn't make the link hot.

Yes, you can copy and paste the URL into the address bar (without the brackets) or in firefox highlight and right click and select "open link", "open link in new tab", "open link in new window" or "open link in private browser".

If it had become a hyperlink then most systems are set for it to be blue and clickable.

Many people still don't know what to do unless it's a hyperlink...

Don't know why it didn't create the hyperlink but I was sure I wasn't imagining it. Now we know.

Well, this is interesting. I switched to "Classic View", and your links are all hot. I think I'm going for a beer. . . . .

I misspoke - it's not a PDF, it's an image on my phone. It's a crystal clear one that I can text to you if you post your number. If you post it in code, it should not be a problem. Example, say your phone number is (123)456-7890, you can write it out as "(one-two-3) 4-five-6 - 7-8-nine-zero", or something like that. Once you have the image, you can put it up here however you'd like.

Or maybe open up your e-mail?

Jeez, Bern. After 2hot6ft2 and I spend an hour unraveling the mysteries of sending a link for a pdf file, you tell us it ain't a pdf? OK for you buddy. You're consigned to adjusting select-o-speed shift cables for the next week. :D

Not sure what you mean by "open up your e-mail". Do you mean in my Profile change it to "Always show my e-mail address:"?

Anyways if you could text it to me at (2five6) 6five6-82two2 I would appreciate it.

Thanks Bern

And fredstev.
You're right they are both links in classic view. Strange.

Sorry about that. :-(

That said, there have been lots of times that I wish I could attach a pdf.

As for SOS woes, I'm dealing with one right now, so I'm already being punished.

(quoted from post at 16:53:22 12/01/18) I just sent the images via text.

And yes to the e-mail thing.
Thanks Bern.
I'll remember the email thing for when needed.
Pictures have been received and the schematic is nice and clear when zoomed in on so the color codes are readable now. Excellent. :D

Since they may lose quality when posted to the board here are the dropbox links to the high quality images. Rotated and cropped ready for viewing.

By the way am I the only one that noticed that the OP has been missing thru all this?

See what you started Mike Medlin  Hope this helps in your project.

(quoted from post at 17:23:33 12/01/18) Thanks for getting that done. The image quality on this site when posting images directly is nothing to crow about.
You're welcome.

Most forums reduce the resolution of images to make them and pages load faster and to conserve server space.
