Ford 850 Crankshaft

Hi all,
I have a ford 850 that has a bad crankshaft in it. It has already been ground and is not savable. The tractor is a 1957 850 with the 172 Gas motor. My question is i have a crankshaft that i believe came out of a 172 Diesel, the Casting number on it is B9NN6302B. Will this crank work in a gas engine? The research i have done seems to come up with conflicting answers. Thanks

Seen more than one diesel crank in gas engine 172.I put diesel crank in one once. Think Ford built some like that when new. Have to use diesel bearings with diesel crank.
