Question about 4 cyl rowcrops - 900, etc

Was talking with a friend about the rear axle drop boxes on those tractos and this question came up.
Was the input/output ratio on those boxes 1:1 or something else?
Thanks

Don't know the exact ratio but I do know the bull gear on the wheel axle is bigger than the spur gear on the top shaft. So there is some gear reduction. My 2 cents worth, Greg NE

The final drives are gear reduction. Not sure of the ratio.

This how the 9** series tractors can use the smaller 6** series differential, albeit inverted.

If the parts diagram is drawn accurately, I count 15 & 32 teeth on the reduction gears so it's close to 1:2 ratio.

Not only is there a significant gear reduction in the final drive, the axle rotation is reversed. I think the ring gear is flipped around to the other side of the pinion on row crops.

Illustrated parts breakdown drawings are representative. The are not intended as specifications and cannot be used as such.

Mark,
Yes. I'm pretty sure the RC rear ends are a completely different casting than the APs and the differential is not reversible like some other brands are. Even the trumpets would have to be different; not only to adapt to the drop box but the thrust block in the trumpet would have to be on the right side in a RC instead of the usual left.
I just never knew if the drop boxes changed the ratio. I guess they do.
Thanks to all.
Bill, great photo. Thanks.
