Hydraulic Pressure Switch wire routing

'64 4000 w/SOS

The wire for my hydraulic pressure switch is broke off at the cover. I can easily fix this, but what is the correct routing for this wire outside of the cover? It seems pretty vulnerable no matter how it gets routed.

As you can see, it was not well protected from the factory. There should be a hole in both the transmission and rear axle case
that the harness is routed through. Both images are from the repair manual.

If it were mine, I'd route the wiring through some metal conduit, such as brake line.

Thank you. I looked in the manual but didn't find that drawing.
