i just got finished putting in a new radiator, new belts, oil and filter change, trans, hydraulic and rear axle fluid change, new spark plugs, power
steering fluid in my 861.Its running great and I plowed my driveway with it for the first time today. It came with about a half tank of gas when I
bought it from the guy who owned it the last 28 years but I never asked him if it needed ethanol free gas or just regular unleaded. Which gas is
best for these older engines?

I haven't had any problems in my '56 640 using the 10% crap we in Texas are forced to use.
Ethanol free fuel is to hard to find, and when you do it's costly.

Here in Mn we've had 10% ethanol for the past 40 years and that's what I use in my tractors a Ford 8n Ford 641 an Oliver 770 and a Farmall "B" all run great not a single problem from 10% ethanol gas also use it my GT's lawn tractor all small engines
GB in MN

I use gas with ethanol most of the time in everything. Gas with ethanol tends to absorb moisture which is what ethanol does. I've never had a problem with a tractor but on small engines if you're not using it better run it dry and drain it. Or buy some pure gas and add stabil. I have an 8N and I think it would run on kerosene.

ALWAYS turn the gas off and run carb dry..... before turning off ignition when not running it for more than the next day... And then you wont have any problems with external_link gas...
