3910 Hydraulic / Rear Axle / Transmission

Another question from me :)

I'm changing the rear axle/hydraulic/rear brake fluid. I have not drained the transmission fluid yet. Are they linked together? Share the same oil? Or are they different, with different oils and different reservoirs?

Just curious, what transmission do you have in this 3910 ? A few years ago, Destroked 450 pointed out that the 8x8 with mechanical shuttle has a filter element that needs to be cleaned. My 4630 has the 8x8 with mechanical shuttle and after I drained the transmission oil, I removed the transmission filter, and took it apart to clean it. I soaked and flushed it for quite awhile, did get some metal fines, but no more than would fit on top of a pencil eraser. It was relatively easy to service, I did have to get a new gasket and o-ring from the CNH dealer.

Dual range 8 forward and 2 reverse. I'm not sure if there is a filter element or not or where it is, if there is one.

I just picked this tractor up and am just changing all the fluids and all the filters and the guys here have been a tremendous help. I'm learning as I go.

8x2 doesn't have a pump.
The sumps are separate but use the same 134 spec oil.
The cheap 303 oil is not recommended for this tractor.

Thanks again, I picked up the Traveller Premium brand at Tractor Supply.
