Ford Series II tractors

Recently bought an '88 3910 Series II. Seems to be about the same frame as the 3000 with a lot of later model higher hp amenities, like wet brakes,
setup for Cat I or II. Just curious about what the Series II references on multiple hp Ford Tractors.

Not sure of the exact year of the Series II but thinking it was 86.
Ford made several changes to the 0010 model line beginning in 86
56-66-7610 models received hydrostatic steering doing away with the troublesome integral power steering sector.
The optional dual pump close center hydraulic remotes became available.
Some models received engine upgrades
Cabs received different doors, windows, overhead lighting along with other changes, interior colors changed from blue to black.
To differentiate these changes Ford added the Series II designation and changed the hood strippes from white to black.
Some farmers refer to the Series II as the black strip models.

I just picked up an '88 3910 also, although it doesn't have the II sticker on it, is mine a Series II? It does have the black stripe.

Dual hydraulic pump option was available from day one of the 10 series back in 1981. Also, the hydrostatic steering for the
56-66-7610s came out in 1985, when they were still white striped.

If you ask me, the series II and the change to black decals was way more style than substance.

Not arguing just going by what the Ford parts book says.
Hydrostatic steering on those models beginning 1/86.
Not stating a fact, just what I've seen but all 7710 white strip tractors I've seen have Sims inline pumps, black strip models I've looked at had Lucas rotary pumps.

I was wrong about the dual hydraulics. my apologies.

Seemed like the intro to the super q cab, and syncro trans options, and in the 3910 was the 3610 with the reduction rear end... and..... along with the closed center and some other significant upgrades to the ford lineup.. apparently enough that they thought they should market it with the II symbol.... Most of which was good, some the tranny options not so much...

If yours had been repainted, maybe the paint shop didn't have that decal. I ordered a set of black stripe decals off ebay and the Series II decals were
part of it. Price for the complete decal set was around 50 bucks.

Thank all for your replies.

I noticed yours has the vertical exhaust. Mine has the horizontal with the tail pipe out the rear. I think I read that US built are like yours and UK built
are like mine. I have a 3000 4.2x4.2 vertical exhaust and with the Ford spec round muffler it's pretty quiet. My 3910 at 4.4x4.2 and horizontal exhaust
(even with a new muffler which is just as noisy as the one that came on it, same size/shape) is really noisy and over idle I really need to wear ear
protection. I'm thinking about converting to vertical and just wondering if it's worth it.

On the sticker under the hood it says Made in England. It's not super loud, I've heard louder, but it is louder than my dads MF135.

I believe you're correct... We had a 5610 that rolled out in April '85 and it was fully hydrostatic..

Force II was released in October of 85. It introduced the revised Super Q cab, made dual hydraulic pumps standard on the 4 cylinders, revised the syncro transmission and probably a few other things that escape me at the moment. Those are the main highlights.
