most of the small thrust bearing balls are missing, where would they be? and why? Governor not working so on disassembly that is what I found??

Most of mine fell out when I took the cover off. Bearing is NLA.

so now that I know they are gone how do I keep new ones from falling out? will sticky grease hold them in long enough to reassemble? any one have a remedy to replace them ? thanks

They are supposed to be captive in the cage. Part 4, EAF18192A
I found a usable one in another governor that had other issues.
You could also use the newer style governor.
They had wore a pretty good groove on the outside of my race.

I bought a new bearing a couple of years ago and did not use it. They were available from CNH at that time. I would be willing to part with
