711 Loader Thanks!

A little after Christmas last winter, I discovered that my neighbor had a 711 loader sitting among a bunch of abandoned machinery in his back pasture. We slogged through the snow and dug it out. I liked it, and paid him for it. It wasn't until July that I had time to haul it over to our farm. It took another month before I had time to think about installing it on my 961. I installed a new dual remote from Stein er. With some excellent help from Kirk and Soundguy (including a bracket from Kirk), I got the loader mounted and then was able to get the barn cleaned.

Next summer I'm going to fabricate a jack to make it easier to remove the loader from the tractor. I also hope to adapt a snow bucket off another loader we have sitting in the scrap pile.

Nice looking tractor.
Your Ranger will appreciate it if you buy a manure spreader. (there... you have an excuse to peruse craigslist and auction bills)
:)

Colin, I sold my 961 and the new owner didn't need the loader or attachment with plow I made for it. If your interested we could work something out for the attachment and plow. Or if you need the whole set up. My email should be open.

Nice to see you got it on and are getting some use out of it. I mounted and old ARPS blade I had laying around to the manure bucket. Mostly to push back snow
piles. Just finish mounting a one loader last month on my 8N. Making a jack stand will make it easier getting it on and off and the narrow front will also
help. If you find and old adjustable leg off a mason scaffold would be easily converted with a bit of welding.

Thanks for the tips, Kirk! How does the 8N handle with the loader? I was just talking to a friend of mine at church this morning and he wants to put a one arm loader on his 860, but was worried about not having power steering.

No kidding! I was averaging 3 scoops before the Ranger had all it could handle. A spreader is on the wish list, but probably won't happen in 2019.

It's always better to have PS with a loader. It's strong arm steering. You kind of get used to steering while moving instead of at a dead stop. The nice thing is it's relatively easy to drop the loader when you don't need it. I drop the loader off the 8n to take it to a show and tractor pull. Will probably back blade snow with the 8n and put it back on in the spring, Which is why I suggest a quick disconnect on the hose, sure you can plug and cap but it gets messy.

That's great that it does OK. I've found that even just a creeping motion makes steering pretty manageable. Though you definitely know when there's a load in the bucket. I'll have to mention this to my friend next time I see him and see if we can get him set up with one on his 861. I spent nearly 10 years dreaming about one of these loaders but never saw one available in this area. Then, within 9 months, came across. Go figure. I completely agree with you regarding quick connects.
