Not shifting

Needs some help, I have an 801 select o shift, it will not move in any gear except 9 and 10. Any suggestions thx

you have an 801 Select-O-Speed! It has a weird set of functioning ratios. Bands 2 and 3 are both way loose or broken!

I do I'm the one driving it, it goes in
park, when I shift it any of the gears,
r, 1-8 it acts like it wants to move but
doesn't, unless I put it in 9 or 10

No that is not what I'm saying, what I
said was when I move the shift to all
the different levels it will not move,
except in 9th and 10th gear. And park
works also

It's hard for us to help you when you contradict yourself like this. If the tractor can be moved when in Park, then park is not working. So which is it? Is the tractor rollable when in Park or is it not?

Sorry if it sounds confusing, the
tractor does not move when in park, the
only time it moves is when I move the
shifter to the 9th and 10th gear, it
doesn't work in reverse 1 or 2 or gears
1-8

The question isn't, "does it move?" The question is, " can it be moved?" If you are saying it can't be moved when in Park, then I have no clue.

To my knowledge, there is no possible scenario where propulsion only happens in 9 & 10 and Park functions properly.

Are you asking if I tried to move it
while it was in park?, that would be no
I didn't know that's a clue. I will try
that later when it warms up outside. So
if it doesn't move than you dont know
what's going on with it?

That's exactly what I'm asking. The only possible way your transmission functions only in 9 & 10 is for both bands 2 & 3 not to be applying, and the way Park functions is for both bands 2 & 3 to be applying. Given this scenario, there is no possible way that Park can be functioning properly if the only other ratios that do so are 9 & 10.

If Park is functioning properly, you'll be able to rock the tractor back and forth maybe 6 inches.

If not, it may or may not have a drag, but be rollable for as far as you wish to roll it. The amount of drag will be dependent upon how loose B2 & B3 actually are
