Ford 2000; diesel 3 cyl.; 8/2 Trans....I lightly disked my back yard last week in preparation for seeding with winter rye and all went well. I noticed, however, that the harrow only lifts when the control is pulled back fairly high. Likewise, lift lowers with not much movement of the lift handle when pushed down. In effect, all lift action seems to take place in the top 1/4th of the travel of the lift control. All seems to work fine but was wondering if this is normal or is something out of adjustment with the lift handle mechanism? Thanks.

I checked the draft control lever and it was almost all the way up. I was under the impression that draft control was either on or off, no? Am gonna do some more harrow work tomorrow and, with the draft control all the way up, see if that makes any difference in the range for the lift control. Thanks.

If the internal linkage is worn and/or out of adjustment you can get symptoms like you describe, and if the lever isn't completely in the position control mode position it can act strange as well. Let us know how it works with the lever all of the way up in position control mode.
