3400 transmission crude.

Recently acquired a Ford 3400 gas tractor that has not run for 8 years and not used much in 6 years before. When draining tranny I removed plug and got about 6 drops of water and no oil. Stuck finger in drain hole to find about 1/4" of crude blocking opening. Pushed through it to get oil to drain. My question is how to clean this crude? Its has to be stuck to bottom. Seems like soaking with diesel or kerosene might loosen it, but not be through at removing it. Suggestions will be appreciated.

I leave the plug out then pressure wash them.
I have about a 20" long piece of brake line on a blow gun that I use to blow it out good with compressed air afterwards.
Then spray half a can of WD40 everywhere or fill it with oil and run it afterwards.
PS,
I think it's crud not crude.

Well UD, what if he was out one day huntin for some food, and out from the tranny came-a-bubblin crude........ Oil that is.

:)

I'd get some sort of petroleum solvent base in there and try and scrape / mix things up to help disolve that crud and then drain, wash, spray like UD said. Kerosene or even the old motor oil from your last few oil changes you have lying in the back of the garage you've been meaning to recycle.

I would put the plug back in and refill with whatever solvent I had around. I would let it set for at least a day then take the cover off. Then I would drain it and see how it looked from above. To finish up I would pour fuel in the top along the two sides so that it would run across the bottom flushing crud as it went. If the crud resisted flowing fuel after softening for 24 hours I would use pressurized fuel to spray clean the bottom.
