I don't know the year model of this tractor, serial # is gone. I would say an early model since someone has replaced the can filter with a spin on adapter. Oil pump on tractor now is EAF-6604-A., which is a gear pump. Every pump I find online for the diesel is DINL6600A which I think is the gerotor style pump. I know this pump will fit but I think I will have to change the pickup tube and pressure line to block. Is that correct? Also, where do I find these parts, a salvage yard, or is there somewhere else to find them. I am changing pump because I have no pressure showing on gauge and, yes, I have tried another gauge. I have no damage on engine, yet, and would like to keep it that way. Thanks for all replies.

It is a 144 cubic inch. From what I can tell, Ford switched to rotor style pump in '61 or '62. Oil lines are definitely different. So, I guess this tractor is older than that.

Most parts have a casting date on them somewhere. Casting date of engine is on lower left near oil pan. Its first number for year, followed by a letter for month, followed by day of that month. If one of your brake pedal shafts go through the tranny case it should be 55-57, if someone hasn't changed the tranny. In any case you can get the engine dated though.

Is the hex driveshaft good? I had one strip out before while mowing hay. No knock under load until I looked at oil gauge which read 0, as soon as I pushed the clutch in I got a hammering knock.

Hex driveshaft is good. I am in process of revising the old pickup tube and pressure line to work with new oil pump.

Do you have a balancer on that diesel? I didnt know that any oil lines were different on the 600 series. Is it a 144 cubic inch?
