Ford 600 steering

Ok I have 3 rib tires, went to jack the
front up the other day, noticed on the left
side, from the tire I have 2 inches of side
to side movement in the steering, It looks
like its coming from the steering box. What
would be causing this, also when I make
very slight turns the front tires dig in
and the more I turn it gets worse..
Any clues
Sincerely
Justin

You have to assess and address any slop you have in the steering. Wheel bearings, spindle bushings and bearings, the steering rod ends and any slop at the arms hooked to the steering box. All free play adds up. When you take all that slop out then you can adjust the steering box. If your steering box is manual it will wear more than the ones with power assist steering. Click on modern view and type in Ford steering box in the search bar. When the page resets click search again and it will pull up old posts on the subject.

You buy the I&T FO-20 manual and read it.
Adjusting the steering box is Very simple.
It's just not worth the all the typing to explain a thing you can easily look up yourself.

(quoted from post at 14:34:00 11/07/18) I have adjust and addressed the shop on the spindles and bearings so I'm good there. How do I adjust the steering box?
ore than likely steering box needs to removed, disassembled and new bearings and seals installed. Yesterdaystractor sells parts to rebuild. If you don't feel up to rebuilding you can buy a new steering box, or hire someone to repair it. Youtube has videos on steering box rebuild for n series which I know aren't 600 series but are still similar in many respects.
