Replacing Starter for Ford Tractor 335

We have recently inherited a Ford 335 Industrial Tractor. We believe it is a 1978 model based on the:

Tractor Number: C575157
Model Number: CU222K

We need to replace the starter. We initially bought this starter from Amazon believing it was the correct one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008Y3OP7O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Our tractor has a front-end loader on it which makes it more challenging to replace the starter.

We have the following questions:

1. Is it possible to replace the starter without removing the front-end loader (or anything else)? Or do we need to remove the front-end loader or possibly hydraulic lines? It seems like a tight fit so we thought we should get some advice on removing the front-end loader first.

2. If the answer to #1 is "Yes", do you remove the starter by lifting it upwards or dropping it downwards? It looks like a really snug fit either way.

3. What starter do you use for your Ford 335 tractor? Do you use the same one that we purchased from Amazon? Or do you use another one?

4. Is the solenoid a separate device for this tractor or is it usually mounted with the starter?

The 1st pic shows the starter we bought and the difficulty we have sliding it down between the Front-End Loader.
The 2nd pic shows the starter that is currently on the tractor (we weren't sure if the current starter is actually the correct one).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The starter you bought is for a diesel. Yes, you can remove the starter with the loader in place. I usually drop them out the bottom. The solenoid (a.k.a. relay) is separate when a gas starter is used.

That is some pretty tough looking wiring you have there.

Bern is correct, the new starter is for a diesel tractor, your's is gas and takes a different starter. The bendix teeth are different so don't even try to use that diesel starter.

Is there a reason the air intake pipe is disconnected from the carburetor?

Thanks for the information - we can send that starter back and buy the correct one.

The tractor has been at my mom's and two years ago a neighbor was trying to help start it. He thought the carburetor was bad and took it off. Unfortunately he never brought it back! We will buy a new one but the carburetor has been off all this time - two years. That is why the exhaust looks like it does. If moisture has gotten into the engine how should we get the engine unseized?

We believe this is a great tractor and we would like to use it, but we hope that leaving the carburetor off of the tractor has not destroyed it.
