Looking for a horizontal exhaust pipe for Ford 5000. Item 19 of diagram 6G1, page 44 of "Owners Edition" parts manual.
Thanks for help!

(quoted from post at 18:05:27 10/31/18) I don't have that manual, and probably most others on here do not either, but we all have access to the New Holland on-line parts site. Is yours gas or diesel? Click on the appropriate link below to view the relevant parts diagram and let us know which part it is in there.

Many thanks for the references. My tractor is diesel, with 10 speed--but the relevant exhaust is shown on the gasoline page, item 19 - C5NN5245D. Muffler configuration is as shown item 30.
Incidentally, that page is almost identical to my parts diagram 6G1, even to the illustration numbers. But I did not have the means to relate the illustration to part numbers.
It appears that the newer exhaust pipe is shorter (C7NN5245A post 1965), and requires an adapter, as shown on the diesel page, even though my 1972 tractor has the longer single piece.
That makes it a lot easier to find, thanks, and I would appreciate it if you could recommend a good place to obtain either the older or the newer part.

Unless you need the underslung exhaust for clearance and are not working the tractor very hard I wouldn't recommend it. We had it on our 5000 Selecto and the muffler being under the left foot rest would bake your foot. Just something to think about.

Yes, the heat shield is long gone and the footrest heats up. We use the tractor primarily in orchards, so vertical stack can be a problem.

That part number appears to be no longer available new, and the odds of finding one in a scrapyard that's still in usable shape is very slim. If the old one is still intact enough to hold its shape when you remove it, you could take it to a local automotive exhaust shop to see if they could make one for you.

I tried the local muffler shop but the pipe I took off is too badly damaged to make sense enough to create a replacement.
